Muscogee County Miss Relay For Life Pageant

 Anna Hancock, with her bubbling personality and her infectious smile is a very special member of our  RFL Pageant family.  When you meet Anna you cannot help but love her.

From the very beginnng it was clear to us that Anna saw the RFL pageant as a way to help others. She had never competed in a pageant before but she wanted to do this one because her grandmother was fighting a losing battle with cancer.  Anna wasn't worried about competing, she didn't care if she won or not...her goal was to collect as much money as she possibly could, so she could be crowned Relay for Life Princess (later renamed Princess of Hope). 

She wanted this honor so she could wear her crown and sash for her grandmother at the Relay for Life event and walk her grandmother around the track.  Also, some other very special people in her life had lost their battles with cancer.  Anna wanted to do something in honor of them too.

Anna succeeded in her quest by raising over $500 and was crowned the  2008 Relay for Life Princess and she also won the hearts of the judges with her winning smile and her self-confidence on stage and was crowned the 2008 Petite Miss Relay for Life.  She set the bar high for anyone who might come after her.

Anna's granmother was too sick to attend the Relay for Life Event in 2008...but Anna was there with her beautiful smile to walk proudly in her honor.  Anna's grandmother lost her battle in the months that followed.  But Anna never lost her determination or her spirit.  She recruited contestants for the 2009 pageant and even helped one of them to raise 3 times more money than she herself had raised the year before.

From the beginning we knew Anna's heart was in the right place and we knew that we wanted her to be a Lifetime Queen.  For Anna...we created the title Queen of Hope. 

We know Anna will continue to spead her smile and her belief that there will one day be a cure for all types of cancer.  We are proud to crown Anna Hancock our Relay for Life Pageant,  Lifetime Queen of Hope.
