Old Guard Rd. is a NEW road that is not on most maps and not located on most GPSs.

If you map to Cooper Creek Road...the turn on to Old Guard Rd is directly across from Cooper Creek Rd, at the intersection, at the traffic light.

You will be turning off of Veterans Parkway (North end) which is also GA-1/US-27.  Directly across from the turn on to Old Guard Rd., you will see Cooper Creek Rd.  At the corner of Cooper Creek Rd and Veterans Pkwy there is a new Crown Gas station and the Maple Plaza mini shopping center (Shopette, Party Shop, and Sports Bar).

You will be turning at the traffic light onto the street located across from the Crown Station.  When you turn on to Old Guard Rd., you will need to stay in the right lane and follow the road all the way to the dead end. 

You will pass the road to Northside High School 1st and then the entrance to North Columbus Elementary. The entrance to Veterans Middle School will be on your left at the very end of Old Guard Rd.

Important Note for GPS/Mapquest users: To avoid confusion you need to be aware that:

4th Ave/Beallwood Connector/Hamilton Rd/GA-1/US-27 and Veterans Pkwy ARE ALL the SAME ROAD. 

Road signs will say Veterans Parkway.

If traveling South on Veterans Pkwy from Hamilton/PineMountain, your turn on to Old Guard Rd. will be a right turn.

If traveling North on Veterans Pkwy, your turn will be a left turn on to Old Guard Rd. You will need to get in the left turn lane to make the left turn on to Old Guard Rd. at the light.
